Reproach

Sometimes,
because we cannot forgive ourselves,
we blame our loved one for the pain.

      Reincarnate Moment

From a small breath of water, I began
gathering force, grace, shape, wisdom
Brushing across the past,
Slipping over stones in the present,
cascading toward the promise of the future.
Narrow where land bound me
wide where I was master
not subdued, I, always the same
yet forever changing.
Changing.
hesitant yet unstoppable.
I began
Entering the larger waters.
Never without motion,
No longer recognizable
After one immediate joining
I began,
Again

        absence

A woman, touched, then
tossed aside,
slowly becomes clay.
Sand, rained upon.
Left alone
becomes a stone, crystallizes.
Colors locked away
Gritty, harsh
while inside her soul
imperceptible embers
emit a trembling light.
waiting . . .
waiting. . .
waiting. .
